Resort description:

Formerly a 17th century sugar plantation, Rawlin's Plantation Inn is set within 12 acres of exquisitely tendered grounds, with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and ocean.

The guest rooms are converted from plantation out-buildings including the sugar mill, and are individually decorated and elegantly furnished in keeping with the old style.

A number of one and two bedroomed cottage suites have recently been added. There is a freshwater swimming pool, tennis court and croquet lawn, but the overall ambiance of the property is serene tranquillity.

Gourmet cuisine is served in the main house restaurant from locally grown produce fresh from the kitchen gardens, nearby farms and local fishermen.

Rooms and accommodation:

The rooms are scattered throughout the grounds, and are breeze cooled with ceiling fans (no air conditioning). They all differ in style, size and layout, but have wooden floors, white washed or stone walls, brightly coloured fabrics, occasional antiques, rugs and a large verandah. All have a private bathroom and hairdryer.

Dress Code in the restaurant, shoes are worn and bathing suits are covered. After 6:30pm, men wear slacks and collared shirts with short or long sleeves (no T-shirts or tank tops). Women wear dresses, skirts, slacks, culottes or tailored Bermuda-length shorts (no 'short shorts' or cutoffs).

Minimum stay is 7 nights.
